Spa Design and Build in the North West: Where Innovation Meets Tradition

The North West is one of the UK’s most varied and commercially active regions for wellness development. From the city-centre hotel market in Manchester and Liverpool to the country house resorts of Cheshire and the rural retreats of the Lake District and Cumbria, the range of project types (and the sophistication of the clientele) is exceptional.

Alkaline 360 works with hotels, leisure operators and commercial facilities across the North West, providing design consultancy and project coordination for spa, gym and wellness facility projects of all scales. We bring together the architects, specialist designers and principal contractors needed to deliver each project, acting as a single point of contact from initial concept through to completed facility.

North West - Manchester

Working across the region

The North West’s diversity means no two projects look the same. City-centre hotels in Manchester and Liverpool typically require wellness facilities that maximise limited footprints while delivering a premium guest experience, efficient layouts, strong thermal experiences, and finishes that hold their own against a competitive urban market. Country house hotels and rural resorts in Cheshire and Cumbria tend towards larger-scale projects: full spa suites, outdoor facilities, hydrotherapy pools, and the kind of immersive thermal journey that justifies a destination visit.

Our work at Carden Park in Cheshire demonstrates the kind of project we support in the region, a substantial leisure facility requiring coordination across design, specialist installation and contractor teams to deliver to a luxury standard within an operational hotel environment.

Areas we cover

We work across the full North West region, including Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire, and Cumbria. If you are based elsewhere in the region and unsure whether we cover your area, contact us directly.

What working with Alkaline looks like

We act as your design consultancy and project coordinator throughout. Our process begins with feasibility and concept design, moves through technical planning and contractor sourcing, and continues through to handover and opening. At the construction stage, the principal contractor contracts directly with you, our role is to coordinate and advise, ensuring delivery remains consistent with the design intent and your budget.

There is no obligation to our initial consultations. If you have a project in mind, at any stage of development, get in touch to discuss it.
